The four heavy bar benders we stock span ₹75,000 to ₹1,55,000. The GW42 at around ₹75,000 is the value pick for 32mm work, the GW52 at around ₹95,000 is the only one that bends 42mm, the imported GUTE costs around ₹1,15,000, and the HMS Made in India around ₹1,55,000.
What separates these four machines?
All four are three phase, heavy duty bar bending machines for 16mm and larger TMT. Three of them, the GW42, GUTE and HMS Made in India, share the same 16-32mm capacity, so between those three you are paying for build quality, not capacity. The GW52 stands apart as the 16-42mm machine. We sell all four, so this comparison is about matching the right machine to your work, not pushing the expensive one.
GW42: the value workhorse
At around ₹75,000, the GW42 is our best selling heavy bender and the benchmark the other three are measured against. It has a 3.2kW motor, weighs roughly 320kg, and bends 32mm at 10 to 20 bends per minute with a digital control panel. For a contractor doing apartments and commercial buildings, it simply does the job. Its limits are the ones you would expect at the price: standard-grade gears and bearings that need timely maintenance under hard daily use.
GW52: the only 42mm machine
The GW52 at around ₹95,000 exists for one clear reason: bars above 32mm. With a 4kW motor and a roughly 550kg frame, it bends up to 42mm for bridges, metro work and heavy foundations. If your bar bending schedule includes 36mm or 40mm, this is the machine and the decision is already made. If your work stops at 32mm, the extra ₹20,000 and the extra 230kg of machine buy you nothing you will use.
GUTE: what does imported quality buy you?
The GUTE (16-32mm) at around ₹1,15,000 is the imported premium option: a 3.5kW motor, precision ground gears, superior bearings and tighter tolerances than the GW42. In practice that means smoother bending, more consistent angles over time, and longer intervals between gear and bearing problems. The honest caveat with any imported machine is parts: spares come through the import chain, so a rare part can take longer to arrive than an Indian equivalent.
Is the HMS Made in India bender worth ₹1,55,000?
The HMS Made in India (16-32mm) is the most expensive of the four, at around ₹1,55,000, and the imported vs Made in India question is really a question about the years after purchase. It carries the strongest motor of the 32mm machines at 4kW, a Bhilai steel frame, and CNC machined gears, and it is built for a 15 to 20 year service life. Because it is our own brand, spares and support come directly from us in Bengaluru rather than through an import chain. For a contractor who will run one bender hard for a decade or more, the arithmetic favours it. For a single project or occasional use, the GW42 at half the price is the sensible buy, and we say so.
Comparison table: the four heavy benders
| Machine | Capacity | Motor | Weight | Starting price (approx.) | Buy it for |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| GW42 | 16-32mm | 3.2kW | ~320kg | ₹75,000 | Best value for daily 32mm work |
| GW52 | 16-42mm | 4.0kW | ~550kg | ₹95,000 | 36mm to 42mm bars, infrastructure |
| GUTE | 16-32mm | 3.5kW | ~340kg | ₹1,15,000 | Imported build quality, smoother running |
| HMS Made in India | 16-32mm | 4.0kW | ~380kg | ₹1,55,000 | 15-20 year service life, direct support |
What do all four need on site?
Plan for three things before any of these machines arrives. All four need a 415V three phase connection, so confirm the site supply early. All four are heavy, from roughly 320kg to 550kg, so think about unloading and placement; once positioned, they generally stay put for the project. And all four reward basic care: greased gears, a clean working disc and a level base keep bend angles accurate for years.
Which one should you buy?
- Bars up to 32mm, value focus: GW42 at around ₹75,000.
- Any bar above 32mm on the schedule: GW52, no other choice in this range.
- Daily hard use, prefer imported precision: GUTE at around ₹1,15,000.
- Buying once for the next decade, want local support: HMS Made in India at around ₹1,55,000.
