Best Concrete Mixer in India (2026): Half Bag to One Bag Picks

Concrete Mixers 4 min readUpdated 8 July 2026

For most professional contractors in India, the best concrete mixer is the 500L one bag mixer with a 6HP Kirloskar diesel engine, starting around ₹1,30,000. On a tight budget, the 240L half bag electric mixer at around ₹23,000 is our value pick, and the 350L 3HP is the largest electric option.

How this list was made

These are dealer recommendations from the concrete mixer range we stock at HMS, Bengaluru, based on more than two decades of selling to contractors across South India. We have not tested every mixer brand in the market, and this is not an industry-wide ranking. What we can tell you honestly is which machines from our own range suit which kind of buyer, and where paying more actually buys you something.

Which concrete mixer is best on a tight budget?

The 240L 1.5HP staring type mixer at around ₹23,000. It is a half bag machine with a star-delta start that keeps the power surge low on weak connections, a tilting drum, and an output of roughly 160 to 180 litres per batch. For ₹3,000 more, the 280L handy type at around ₹26,000 gives you 40 litres of extra drum with a simple DOL start. Both run on ordinary 220V single phase power and suit individual house builders and small repair contractors.

Which half bag mixer is best for daily professional use?

The 250L mixer with a 2HP Indian motor at around ₹58,000. The price jump over the budget machines buys a heavier steel frame, better bearings and gears, and a made in India motor with more power. If a mixer will run most days of the month, the budget machines wear out where this one keeps going. That difference does not show in the specification sheet, but it shows in our service records.

What is the largest electric mixer you can buy?

The 350L 3HP Indian motor mixer at around ₹68,000. It mixes a three-quarter bag batch, roughly 230 to 260 litres of concrete, and still runs on 220V single phase, though we recommend a 25 to 30A connection for the 3HP motor. It is the right pick when you want fewer batches per pour but do not want diesel storage, diesel handling or engine maintenance on site. Our guide on which concrete mixer size you need works through the batch arithmetic.

Which one bag concrete mixer is best?

The 500L 6HP Kirloskar diesel mixer at around ₹1,30,000. This is the industry standard machine for commercial slab work in India: a full one bag batch of roughly 350 to 400 litres, no dependence on site electricity, and a Kirloskar engine that burns about 1 to 1.5 litres of diesel per hour and has service support in every district. We also stock a 560L one bag tilting drum mixer at around ₹1,22,000 for buyers who want a little more drum volume. What should you check before paying?

Three practical checks save most of the complaints we hear about mixers bought elsewhere. First, confirm the motor or engine brand in writing; a generic motor and an Indian branded motor can look identical on a listing but behave very differently after six months. Second, match the drum size to your actual pour, because an oversized drum half filled mixes poorly and wastes fuel or power. Third, ask about warranty terms; the mixers above carry a 6 month warranty, and the diesel machine additionally carries Kirloskar's own engine terms.

How should you choose between them?

  • Occasional use, small site: 240L or 280L half bag electric, from around ₹23,000.
  • Daily use, electric power available: 250L 2HP for durability, or 350L 3HP for bigger batches.
  • Commercial slabs, unreliable power: 500L Kirloskar diesel, the full one bag standard.
