What a Concrete Mixer Costs
Concrete mixer prices in India depend mainly on drum size, motor or engine type, and build quality. A small half bag electric mixer is the cheapest. A large one bag diesel machine is the most expensive. This guide gives the starting prices for each model we stock in our concrete mixers range, and explains what drives the cost.
Price by Model
Here is the HMS range with size, motor, cement capacity and starting price. Prices move with steel and motor costs, so treat these as a starting point and contact HMS for the current rate.

|---|---|---|---|
| 240L Starting Type | 1.5 HP electric | Half bag | Starting around ₹23,000 |
| 280L Handy Type | 1.5 HP electric | Half bag | Starting around ₹26,000 |
| 250L Indian Motor | 2 HP Indian motor | Half bag | Starting around ₹58,000 |
| 350L Indian Motor | 3 HP Indian motor | 3/4 bag | Starting around ₹68,000 |

What Drives the Price
Drum size and cement capacity
A bigger drum uses more steel and a heavier frame, so it costs more. Moving from half bag to three-quarter bag to one bag is the main step in price across the range.
Motor or engine
The cheapest machines use a 1.5 HP electric motor. A stronger 2 HP or 3 HP Indian motor adds cost but handles heavier mixes and longer daily runs. The 500L uses a 6 HP Kirloskar diesel engine, which is the single biggest reason it sits at the top of the range. Diesel adds the freedom to work without site power.
Build quality
A heavier frame, better gearing and a sturdier drum cost more upfront but stand up to daily site use. The 250L 2 HP machine is priced above the basic half bag models for this reason, even though its cement capacity is the same. If you run a mixer hard every day, the sturdier build usually costs less over its life, because it breaks down less and lasts longer.
Taxes and delivery
The starting prices here are for the machine. Depending on the model, GST and delivery to your site can add to the final figure. Always confirm the all-in cost before you buy, so there is no surprise. HMS can give you a full quote with these included.
Price Is Not the Only Cost
The sticker price is one part. Also weigh running cost and labour. An electric half bag mixer like the 240L Starting Type is cheap to buy and cheap to run where power is steady. A diesel 500L costs more per hour to run, but it clears big pours fast and works where there is no power, which can save you more than its higher price on the right job.
Resale and life also matter. A well-built machine that you maintain holds value and keeps earning for years. A cheap machine that fails mid-project costs you far more in lost days than you saved at purchase. For a contractor running steady work, buying the right grade of machine the first time is the cheaper path over time.
How to Get the Best Value
- Match the size to your real daily pour, not the biggest drum you can afford. Our guide on which mixer size you need helps with this.
- Decide between half bag and full bag before you compare prices, since that sets the price band.
- Factor in spares and service. Buying from a supplier who stocks parts keeps the machine earning for years.
