How to read tank size and motor together

Tank litres tell you how much air is stored, but the motor decides how fast that air is refilled. A big tank with a weak motor still runs short under heavy continuous use, because once the stored air is gone the tool can only get what the motor makes. The two work as a pair. Think about how long your tool runs without a break. Short bursts let a small tank refill between uses. Continuous work, like sanding or spraying a full panel, drains the tank faster than a small motor can fill it, so you need both a bigger tank and a stronger motor.

Care tips that add years

Drain the tank water daily. Compressed air carries moisture that collects at the bottom and rusts the tank from inside. Open the drain valve at the end of each day. Check and top up the pump oil on oil-lubricated models. Keep the air filter clean, since dust here clogs filters fast. Do not run the compressor with a kinked or leaking hose, as the motor will overheat trying to keep up.

Place the unit on a firm level floor with space around it for air flow. Let the belt guard stay on while the unit runs. In the monsoon, keep it off damp ground and under cover, since standing water near the base speeds up rust and rot on the wheels and feet.
